Back to the Garden is a perfect experience of relaxing instrumental music played in the New Age fluid style where the instruments blend intuitively with each other. It’s almost like having a personal spa day with this soothing music playing in the background. Or you may choose to use it as garden party music or background music for dining. The calming music is even suitable for hospitals, hospice or general stress reduction. Tom Barabas playing grand piano, and Dean Evenson on silver flute is a musical partnership evolved which has resulted in many concerts and popular recordings, (Soaring, WindDancer, Instruments of Peace). Their long musical friendship continues on Back To The Garden, expressing their musical souls together.
In 1984, Tom Barabas and Dean Evenson met and played music for the first time at an Arnold Patent consciousness-raising workshop in Tucson, Arizona. They recognized that they had a similar style of relating to music, composing and co-creating in the moment. They shared a spiritual connection to the calming music they played together which they felt flowed through them from a transcendental source. On Back to the Garden, Tom and Dean are joined by Richard Hardy, former horn man for Carole King and Eliza Gilkyson and popular session musician. Richard graces many of the tracks with his seductive saxophone melodies, haunting clarinet and alto flute. Not only is Richard an outstanding musician, but he is a welcome collaborator in the Soundings family of musicians.
