These authentic Sanskrit devotional chants will carry you to their source on the banks of the sacred Ganges River in India. Introducing the remarkable voice of sitar master Deobrat Mishra performing with his nephew Prashant Mishra on tabla. Sound healing pioneer Dean Evenson joins with soaring silver flute adding to these improvisational compositions of traditional ragas. Ideal background for yoga, chanting and dynamic meditation.
Deobrat Mishra is the son of Pandit Shivnath Mishra, a legend of Sitar from the holy city of Varanasi (also known as Benares) on the sacred Ganges River in India. He represents the 11th genera- tion of the lineage of the Benares Gharana tradition. This is one of the rare albums where he sings mantra and plays sitar together. He composes all of the mantras in traditional Indian Raga style so this music can affect more people in a healing way.
